FRIDAY 10th JULY
SUNDAY 12th JULY

These Practice days are open to ALL Members and will run from 10am to 4pm

JUNIOR TRACK will be split into 20 min sessions throughout the Day starting with the 50's to allow all Junior Members to have a good practice on the Track. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact one of the committee members.

Junior licence changes

Some changes have been made in the 2009 Manual of Motorcycle Sport which affects the distribution of licenses to junior motorcyclists, effective immediately.

The introduction of a new Mini Licence for junior participants aged 4 years to under 16 years on January 1 has now been implemented, which affects the issuing of Recreational Licences and Nipper Licences.

The holder of a Mini licence will be able to participate in all the activities included under a Minikhana permit including the limited forms of competition. Minikhana riders will no longer need to purchase a junior competition licence.

Riders wishing to participate in other forms of competitive events will still be required to possesses a junior competition licence.

The Mini Licence will enable participation in the following:

o 50cc Demo Class (formerly Division 1)

o Any Minikhana activities

o All non-competitive events

The Nipper licence will no longer be issued, however riders in possession of a current Nipper licence can continue to use this licence as if it was a Mini licence. Upon renewal a Mini licence will be issued.

The Mini Licence will cost $85.50 making it significantly cheaper for riders to take part in the above events, and this will make motorcycling more accessible for younger participants.

Junior Restricted Licences have also been reduced in price, down from $170.00 to $85.50 to further encourage participation in Moto Trials, Mini Moto and Fast50 racing.

Presidents Report:

RDMC come and try day

This was a huge success and a very busy day. We had 255 riders sign in for the day with almost 2 thirds of them seniors so the senior track got a huge work out.

The Club raised $1900.50 for the Alex Welsh Foundation from the $5.00 entry fee and profit from the canteen and sales of the Alex Welsh wrist bands and stickers. A Chq from the Club was being sent off this week to the Foundation. Thanks to all the riders that attended to support Alex and to all the RDMC members and Non members that helped run the day and make it as successful as it was.

A big thank you to Darren and Paul from Freestyle Honda, in Frankston, who took the time to come out and set up a display. They also had 4 brand new bikes available for the riders to test and they did not stop. In all they had over 10% of the turnout test the new bikes from the CRF50 right up to the CRF450r. All who tested the bikes came back with huge smiles on their faces and a look of wanting more. Darren and Paul both commented how great it was to see so many new riders at the track, they had a great and very worthwhile time. They had very positive feedback about the 09 Honda range and the track. Anyone wishing to find out more about the bikes they test road or for information on the Honda CRF line up can call Darren or Paul on 1300 RIDEHONDA or drop in and visit them at 38 Wells Road SEAFORD VIC 3198

We prefer to email newsletters rather than print and post them which involves more money and time.

In an attempt to communicate efficiently we would like you to sign up to recieve your newsletter via email. You will also receive short-notice updates, such as reminders that the track is closed in the event of a Total Fire Ban etc.

Here are some of the advantages of receiving email up dates:

* You will always have the latest information available to you
* You will save the club money in copying and postage, which in turn will help keep membership costs down
* Every/any member of a family can recieve their own copy of the newsletter, so kids sign up and you don't have to wait for Mum or Dad to check their email.
* Non-members are welcome to sign up to receive our newsletter to find out what we do at RDMC.
