President’s report

Hi Guys, What an eventful year we had. As you all know we have several New Committee Members and we had our first official meeting last week.

You will find a draft Calendar within this Newsletter which has our proposed dates for events next year. Please note that they are only proposed at this stage but we will endeavour to have all the events listed on or around the dates proposed. We will try not to clash with any other major meets but with the list of available events in Victoria, we are going to clash with some you may wish to attend.

As you will see the first practice day is on the 18th January with practice days almost every weekend from then on. To do this we will need everyone’s help to roster on supervisors and level 2 first aiders.

If you are interested in becoming an Official or obtaining your Level 2 First Aid certificate please Give myself, Rachel, Anthony, or Andrew a call to register your interest. The Club will be running and funding a few courses early in the New Year so if you are interested please let us know so that we can confirm numbers and schedule the training.

The most important to come out of this year is the fact that we will be holding the third round of the Junior Victorian Titles in 2009. This has been a long time coming but we are ecstatic that we have secured it for next year.

The Club has again taken on a lot for next year as we believe it will only make the Club Stronger. The more we do the easier it will get. Once the infrastructure is there it will be there for all events, again making each of them  easier to set up for and run. The most important change for next year is the complete the installation of the power to the different areas that need it from the 65kva generator we purchased this year. We also need to complete the irrigation on the Senior track and finish putting the speakers up around the facility. The plans are underway for the New Junior chutes and we will get the other new fencing, replacing the old white fencing, to allow the sand to blow through. We are still keen to also get the bore established after we were unsuccessful this year.

For those that were unable to attend the presentation night you missed a good one. I said that last years was probably the best but I think this year topped it. The venue is the best we have had with a huge stage, awesome sound system and the facility to play MX DVD’s and photo’s from the year. The format of bringing your own meals this time seemed to work very well with most people eating first and only bringing nibbles. Thanks to Sharon Stewardson and all members that helped organise,  set up and clean up at the end of the night. Unless we find a better location we will be have the night here again next year. If you have any “sensible” suggestions for the night please feel free to contact myself, Rachel or Andrew. We are always open to ideas. A big Thank you also to Bridie Stewardson who put the DVD together of the year, I have to say it was excellent and can be purchased if you would like one. Big thanks also to Linda and her mum for producing the actual DVD’s and covers.

I would also like to thank all members for their help and support of the Club this year. I wish everyone a Happy and Safe festive season and I look forward to seeing you all at the track next year.

Safe Riding

The committee are encouraging the use of the website and email as the quickest way to let people know what is going on.
We prefer to email newsletters rather than print and post them which involves more money and time.

In an attempt to communicate efficiently we would like you to sign up to recieve your newsletter via email. You will also receive short-notice updates, such as reminders that the track is closed in the event of a Total Fire Ban etc.

Here are some of the advantages of receiving email up dates:

* You will always have the latest information available to you
* You will save the club money in copying and postage, which in turn will help keep membership costs down
* Every/any member of a family can recieve their own copy of the newsletter, so kids sign up and you don't have to wait for Mum or Dad to check their email.
* Non-members are welcome to sign up to receive our newsletter to find out what we do at RDMC.

If you have any questions email Marg at info@sanguineweb.com.au
